Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) won 5-4 over Rob Fowler (Brandon, MB) in the Final of the Manitoba Lotteries Men's Curling Classic, held October 7 - 10, 2011 at the Brandon Curling Club in Brandon, . To advance to the championship game, Liu won 6-5 over Todd Birr (Mankato, MN) in the semifinals of the 2011 Manitoba Lotteries Men's Curling Classic in Brandon; and won 6-2 over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2011 Manitoba Lotteries Men's Curling Classic in Brandon;

Liu finished 3-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Liu defeated Perry Fisher (Nesbitt, MB) 6-2, then won 9-2 against David Bohn (Winnipeg, MB) and 9-4 against Terry McNamee (Brandon, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Manitoba Lotteries Men's Curling Classic Championship title, Liu earned 9.150 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 39th place overall with 41.541 total points. Liu ranks 33rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.675 points earned so far this season.
