Rusnell lost 6-3 to Kristy Lewis (Vancouver, BC) where Rusnell responded with a 9-6 win over Marla Mallett (New Westminster, BC). Rusnell went on to lose 7-5 against Allison MacInnes (Kamloops, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Rusnell earned 0.635 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 19 spots the World Ranking Standings into 167th place overall with 2.135 total points. Rusnell ranks 111th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.635 points earned so far this season.
