Kaufman won 7-4 against Makichuk in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic Championship title, Kaufman earned 19.840 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 29th place overall with 47.353 total points.
