Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic qualifying round, held October 15 - 18, 2010 at the Medicine Hat Curling Club in , Canada. In their opening game, Armstrong-Smith defeated Jessie Kaufman (Edmonton, AB) 7-6, then won 9-5 against Anna Ohmiya (Karuizawa, JPN). Armstrong-Smith went on to lose 6-2 against Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO). Armstrong-Smith responded with a 7-6 win over Brett Barber (Saskatchewan). Armstrong-Smith won 4-3 against Tanilla Doyle (Calgary, AB). Armstrong-Smith went on to lose 7-4 against Casey Scheidegger (Calgary, AB). Armstrong-Smith lost 9-1 to Ji-Sun Kim (Korea) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Armstrong-Smith earned 2.480 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 6 of the event schedule, Armstrong-Smith did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Armstrong-Smith ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
