McKague went on to lose 6-2 against Randy Bryden (Regina, SK). McKague lost 9-5 to Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB) where McKague responded with a 10-1 win over Darren Moulding (Lethbridge, AB). McKague won 8-6 against Jason Ackerman (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
