Ackerman responded with a 7-4 win over Aaron Sluchinski (Edmonton, AB). Ackerman went on to lose 8-6 against Rick McKague (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Ackerman earned 3.270 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 73rd place overall with 21.100 total points. Ackerman ranks 95th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.270 points earned so far this season.
