Julie Hastings (Toronto, ON) won 4-2 over Karen Bell (Listowel, ON) in the Final of the KW Fall Classic, held September 24 - 27, 2009 in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Hastings won 5-3 over Kathy Brown (Guelph, ON) in the semifinals of the 2009 KW Fall Classic in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario;
Hastings finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hastings lost 6-5 to Alison Goring (Toronto, ON), then responded with a 6-3 win over Jennifer Spencer (Guelph, ON). Hastings went on to lose 7-5 against Brit O'Neill (Hamilton, ON). Hastings responded with a 5-3 win over Kristy Russell (Orangeville, ON). Hastings won 6-3 against Russell in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the KW Fall Classic Championship title, Hastings earned 9.200 world rankings points along with the $3,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Hastings did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hastings ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
