Just a bump to hopefully spur discussion.

Note that Team Sather is last year's US Club National Chmapions so they are the team to beat on the men's side.

The women's GNCC winner last season is not playing this year so the field is open with Team Longnecker having the most experience.

Dion.

On the men's side with most teams finishing 3 games, all teams have a win and packed tightly in both pools. This event off to a good start and should be exciting to watch going into the weekend.

Don't know many players on the women's side, but going into the second round of the double round robin, some pride should start to show and expect some close games.

Wish all the teams good curling from here on out.

Is there still a rule that you had to be a member of the same club AND curl in a league there. Did the rule change? Just curious.

"Event Eligibility: U.S. citizenship or residency is required. In addition to the USCA membership requirements in Section II, all team members must be dues-paying, league-playing members of the same USCA club. Each region (or state) should determine who is acting in good faith in claiming to be a league-playing club member and each qualifying entrant must comply with his or her region’s ruling."

Thanks. Last I checked, the vice on the women's winning team was a member at bucks county. Didn't think she was a member at ardsley, but I could be mistaken.

Glad I'm not crazy. I saw a picture of the winning women's team on Twitter and I definitely though she was from Philly.

Aren't those clubs close enough that if a curler lived between them they could be a member of both?

I can't believe with all the publicity anyone is trying to pull a fast one here.

Watched a couple of games on the webcast and the ice seemed pretty straight and maybe a little bit slow.

I believe that entire team belongs to Philly. One or two of them may also curl as members at Bucks County - when Bucks first got started many of the Philly members were curling there for summer leagues.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got this event confused with another event - no Philly women's team in the playdowns. Tired and no coffee this morning.

Ardsley's vice is a member of Bucks County and Ardsley. She curls in a Sunday league at Ardsley so she more than qualifies as an Ardsley member.

There is nothing wrong here and her team played great and won all their games to capture the championship and represent the region. Good on them!

Biterbar, we flooded over Thankgiving and the ice straightened out since. We are used to having better ice and were disappointed for this event. At least all the teams played on the same conditions.

Thanks,

ChiefIceMinion, a simple google search will confirm the rest of the team are all Ardsley members.

Looks likely that the GNCC will get two spots for both men and women.

In that case, our 2nd places teams were Team Heisler from Cape Cod and Team Stefanik from Schenectady.
