We'll see how much resistance Sensational Sherri or The Flying Nun, Krista McCarville can provide in the final!!!

Glenn Howard being "monstrously dominant" winning the last 7 Ontario titles hasn't been bad for Ontario men's curling, considering he's arguably pushed Epping into elite status and brought Higgs and Kean up as well. Having good teams competing hard in a province just elevates the competition. Rachel Homan hasn't been nearly as "dominant" as Howard's team in recent years, but we could be witnessing the start of a Howardesque dynasty if she finishes off the weekend.

If Rachel finishes off the field she still has to forage her way to winning the national title - and knocking out well-known champion curlers like Jones, Arsenault/Jones, Lawton, Kleibrink, Kelly Scott, etc. will elevate her to new and great heights.

what in the hell kind of crap are you on about now?

So do you think that the Ferbey years were bad for the interest of Alberta Mens Curling? or that your precious JJ's success is(was) bad for the interest of Manitoba's womens curling??
What a sill thing to ask and if Homan doesn't win tomorrow I guess the description of monsterously (spelling mistake by the way) dominant will no longer be valid?

well for a while there mccarville dominated ontario. she wasnt such a monster in the round robin but from 2006-2010 she got out 4 times and i think the one year she didnt she lost in the final to middaugh.

I think that krista's periods of domination maybe helped spark this new rush of competitive teams in ontario and maybe rachel is coming from that

now seeing as everyone has narrowed down to their final 4/5 im going to make my predictions about who reps the provinces:

alberta - sonnenberg
saskatchewan - lawton
ontario - middaugh
quebec - ross
nova scotia - arsenault
manitoba - carey
prince edward island - birt

Don't forget, even with the fantastically crazy day of televised curling tomorrow (and what a wonderful situation that is!), you can also watch the Saskatchewan tournament streaming online! Saskcurl has been doing a great job putting that out too.

and further to that in SK
Lawton and Shumay are in 1 vs. 1 game tonight.
Eberle awaits the winner of a TB between Holland & Englot for 2 vs. 2 game. Holland leading 5-2 in 7th end Pretty much usual suspects (except for those who hoped to see Paulsen who lost to Holland in 1st TB)

I know the Sask Scotties and Sask Tankard are live-streamed, but does anyone know if any other Provincial Scotties or Tankards will be live-streamed? Links?

I wonder how Team Homan will prepare differently than they did last year for Sunday's final. Their pure domination of Auld obviously gives them superb confidence heading into it but every team is beatable.

Homan is a no-brainer in Ontario unless The Flying Nun (McCarville) can stop her. Or Sensational Sherri!

Alberta is a hornet's nest. I'm cheering for another Shannon Kleibrink show but got my doubts.

Heather S-D will take out Nix in Nova Scotia then be a mitt full for Arsenault/Coco Jones.

Jones will probably win Manitoba although a little part of me is cheering for Chelsea Carey and Bob Jenion's daughter, Kristy.

Never know about Jennifer. SHe might sand-bag tonite and try coming out of the b-side, flirting with danger has always been her stock in trade. Plus, she gets potential 3 games on Sportsnet if she loses and works her way back thru b-side.

Holland is probably the biggest threat to lawton winning saskatchewan. She's got a good young team infront of her. If it is a lawton v.s holland final then i'd be really interested. Dailene can definately go shot for shot with marliese and amber is probably a better shot maker than stefanie. The question would be if amber's second and third could keep up with singler and anderson.

and by the way..nix is up 5-3 over smith-dacey after 8 and has the hammer in the 9th so needs to mount a late comeback if she's to win as you predict.

Homan and team back with Earl as coach look unstoppable. They seem to have better strategy. McCarville could beat Middaugh but something tells me me that to will be Sherri playing in the final tomorrow. Her team wants this. Its good to get some good competition in a province but after watching the BC final last week...pretty pathetic when (tm ML) little Kelly creaming the opposition. I hope the Ontario, Manitoba & Alberta finals are better. Hey everyone there is almost 12 hours of non stop curling on tomorrow ...more viewers mean more curling televised in the future.

Finally a shout out to the Homan team Dads..couldn't meet a nicer group of parents unlike the fan who loudly compared Auld to a mud loving farm animal during the game today.

Good luck to all tomorrow. May the best teams win.

It is great to see 3 Southern Ont teams still standing. It seems fitting considering the number of zone, region and challenge round games some of these women played compared to the 5 team round robin that the Northern teams play!!

Well after the thrashing today, Auld may beat Middaugh bent on avenging her loss to Homan!

Wow, this has gotten embarassing.
Jones thrashing a nervous Kilgallen 8-1 unsurprisingly will be in the MB Final

Meanwhile, Sonnenberg is in the AB Final(trying to make her 1st Scotties appearance since 2001) and Kleibrink is eliminated in the C/C Game

she'll have a tough time of it. Sherry has a 5-1 H2H over auld. I know that past doesnt necessarily guarantee a middaugh win but sherry does just seem to have her number.

the auld team is on a 3 game losing streak and has gone 1-4 in their last 5 games after starting 5-0. they have definately benefiyed from a fast start, you have to wonder if they'd be here if they had lost early.

Only team in Canada I'd say matches up well physically and tehnically with Jones is Team Homan. Edge to Jones on experience and risk-taking.

oh shut up. kilgallen has not made her make anything hard. its difficult not to look like a god when all your doing is throwing simple hits and peels.

Jennifer & crew look extremely sharp and focused
8-1 after 5.

I wonder if sportsnet will switch games and show spencer / carey?

Doubt it... women's curling revolves around jones don't you know... Pathetic that they don't switch to the much closer, more interesting game. Shame.

Kleibrink is done, as her new team got jacked tonight by Moore and it wasn't close. Funny what happens when even a bad team gets the ice and a good team just can't get the broom in the right place.

So now it is Sonnenberg waiting for the winner of Crocker and Moore... wow, watching the Crocker team and how do you spell air-o-gant. Won't be cheering for them that's for sure, but they do have the big financial backing of the CCA and the NTC and have a big jump on most teams when it comes to dollars.
