I found an old silver plated trophy that is marked as follows:

WINNER
BRITISH CONSOLS TROPHY
CHATHAM C.C.
1956

My question to all of you, "Was the 1956 championship held in Chatham at the Chatham curling club?"

I found out that the Granite Club of Toronto won the Ontario championship in 1956. So I am trying to figure out if this is a trophy from their win, or is it something else?

The tray was probably won by the G Gilbert team, for winning the equivalent of a region and playing in the Ontario final.
