There really isn't a "quantitative answer", given the usual icemakers' caveat that "what works in my building might not work in yours".
When we hosted the 2013 GNCC Mixed Playdowns we did nothing different to our pebbling and our nipper setup. The only change was that we were scraping every draw, which we accounted for by only doing a 3-, 4- or 5-pass scrape pattern rather than our usual 8-10 passes in our regular maintenance schedule. Oh yeah, we also lost a compressor on Sunday morning I believe the feeling among the field was that the ice held up reasonably, or at least that's what I was told.....
