2014 Brier predictions anyone?

yep I know everyone has their own predictions on who will hoist the cherished Tankard over their heads...personally I am interested to see if some 'dark horse" team will surprise everyone at this years Brier... with no Martin, and Howard perennial winners in past, guess we'll have to wait and see who gets a good start from the first draw in several hours from now. I had to laugh from a person's comment on CBC's curling forum, who suggested that the Jacob's rink should be at this year's Brier, don't know if their being funny? or their just plain dumb ...at least we won't have to listen to Mike Harris babbling on play by play...he makes Vic Rauter seem intelligent

Stoughton for the win. He seems very energized similar to Homan was at the Continental cup. Some of the trials teams wilted, others seem to have restarted. While I will also cheer Ontario, I've always been a fan of Jeff.

The good news for Nova Scotia is they go 7-4 and make the playoffs. The bad news is they will have to go through relegation next year.

yep opening draw yesterday we seen N.B. get smoked and well it is only opening jitters, but who is really more nervous N.O. rookie skip playing seasoned vet James Grattan ....sure we might see more surprises at this year's Brier....perhaps Martin and Glenn Howard might be in the stands or the 'patch'?

Murphy vs Mackenzie this morning....

can this be a early battle for cellar dwellers or what? both skips have to get their **** together if they wish to have the dubious distinction of 'well you figure" it out..

yep I recall my first Brier working as a volunteer in the patch during the '96' in Kamloops' and witnessing the final game between Martin and Stoughton ...we know who won don't we?

right and N.B. has been hammered yet again this time 10 to 1 by Koe and company shaking hands in the 7th end... somehow I think James Grattan must be thinking it is going to be a long week

no surprise seeing Johnny Mo on top with Stoughton right behind....and in the middle of the pack...I see Mr. Mackenzie 's rink from the island holding his own at 3 and 2 , what might be surprising is seeing Gushue rink struggling so early into the Brier... cannot put the blame on his two "island recruits'

Eddie has to beat Grattan to stay

in contention this morning , more than 4 loses and you'll be in the dreaded "D" event ....(drinking) as the brier winds down midweek it appears the earlier predictions are coming true....Johnny Mo and Koe battling it out for top while Stoughton is nipping their heels...

Semi-final

I didnt know quite what to expect from Team Alberta tonight. After watching Quebec down Team Manitoba today, I had a pretty good idea of what they were bringing to the table lots of out-turns.

Kevin Koe got his A team back tonight after a really dismal appearance against BC where he was unable to read the ice and therefore not able to call the right lines and weight for the team. He also did not handle the adversity well and that trickled down to the team who were already unsure of the abilities of their skip.

All that is in the past as he is calling all the right shots for his team. Which is a good thing as Jean-Michele Menard and Team Quebec is giving them all they can handle. Shot for shot these two teams are giving us a great semi-final.

I have to say my heart is with this team from Quebec. I really enjoy the joi de vive they bring to the game in addition, of course, their great shot making ability.

Still, I have a feeling that BC is on the same kind of mission that Brad and the boys were and that in the end, the medal will go to the West Coast boys.
