Hack question

Has there ever been an experiment in curling with adding additional hacks either side of the normal one? I’m thinking halfway between the center line and the sideboards. The throwing player could pick which one they want to kick from and then more shots and angles could be available to get at rocks in the wings.

there used to be a rule that when delivering you could not slide out to the boards at the hogline to create a better angle -

not sure if it applies now - was to prevent what you are suggesting

if your having trouble getting around a guard - there is a $5 sandpaper glove at Rona - just casually sandpaper your rock

- 1 revoulution = 2' extra curl
2 revs = 3' extra curl

very effective if done subtely

Should go to 1 hack, right on the center line.

You have to slide in the general direction of the broom. Sliding exaggeratedly to one side or the other is against the rules.

As for the sandpaper glove, get caught doing that at our club and it would be about 20 revolutions around your face with the glove and out.

until someone takes it upon themselves to do a little papering of the rocks. Still think the face sandpapering might be a good idea though.
