So the seedings and Pools have been announced. Wild card is Carey vs Einarson and gets the #4 seed and is known as WC in the draw table. All other seeds are done on CTRS points as of today.

Hope everybody is happy the Yukon and Nunavut will get their seven games in and then go home along with six other teams halfway through the Scotties at the end of play Wednesday. This format stinks for Nationals.

okay, so, seeing the pools i'll say out of pool A will be manitoba, wild card, northern ontario and northwest territories. Out of pool B will be alberta, british columbia , canada and newfoundland

A is harder to call . i;m flip flopping between saskatchewan and northwest territories

gonna stick with my final 4 of manitoba, alberta, northern ontario and ctrs team

Old math

Looking at the CTRS standings and the seedings of these teams, how is it possible the wild card team is ranked 4th. Both Carey and Einarson are 2nd and 4th in the CTRS 100 points ahead of Scheidegger who's ranked 2nd and over 150 points ahead of Englot ranked 3rd. Who and how did they come to this decision?

I would assume its based on who you lost to or beat in the provincial playdowns. CTRS points should only count to get the 2 qualifiers. The rest of the rankings should be based on playdowns as that is the only way to get straight to the Scotties.

BUT, they used CTRS for all rankings. What gives. "They" whoever they are made a mistake based on their own admission of using CTRS points to seed ALL the teams. Somebody needs to go back to grade 3 or Sesame Street where one of these things is not like the other. "They" never come out and say exactly who, how, and why their decisions are made. Especially when they're wrong.

Again, just bad math skills.

The WC is seeded fourth regardless of their actual seed. Assuming this is done so they can have an actual schedule drawn up before hand so spectators can plan their ticket purchases accordingly. If they did this after the actual play in game it would be tough on people attending draws for their favorite team . Many people buy single game tickets accordingly.

Maybe so, but both wild card teams are ranked much higher, and the official draw with the actual team listings and pools were released TODAY! TODAY!

If you tried to buy tickets before TODAY it said draw TBA.

These CTRS points go back to Dec 31st. Why then the discrepancy? Again begs the same question, who why and how did they come up with this? How can number 2 be ranked 4th when the draw was released TODAY?

Does CC ever do the sensible thing? They are a top heavy organization with 5 times as many staff as they had just a few years ago and still cannot get their national championships right,
