House of Hearts

There is an important deadline tonight at midnight. Allow me to cut/paste:

House of Hearts Celebrity Skins Showdown - Vote NOW

The largest curling charity event in the USA has added an All Star Skins Game to this year's festivities. Best of all, it is going to be webcasted LIVE on TESN Duluth (http://www.tesn.us/tesn---duluth.html) at 2pm central on Friday.

You can vote for which of our Celebrity Skips are playing in the game by donating to our cause at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/h...skins-showdown.

Our voting has taken off over the last 24 hours and will be updated as votes come in today. Pre-event voting ends at midnight central time tonight. Live voting at the event will conclude at 9:30pm Thursday night. Teams will then be drafted immediately following the closing of live voting.

You can see where each skip stands on votes here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...Gc#g

Neither of the links in that post work...at least not for me...it could, I suppose, be a firewall issue, since I'm at work...but generally I can get to Indiegogo and Google Docs.

Is the deadline already past?

Midnight tonight, Wednesday March 20.

Little Ike won't make it to the Skins All Star Game, so I'm trying to shift my votes to Ski Rojeski.

Sorry about the dead links. Cut/paste isn't always kind to me. Go to the Duluth Curling Club site and pony up $5. Nice guys...great event...worthy charity.

Ever wonder what the big deal is all about? The House Of Hearts has raised about 1/3 of a million for the local hospital. Last year it aided in upgrading Infusion Therapy. Now patients that need IV's don't have to stay overnight. This year the goal is to replace the old ECHO cardiogram machines with new ones.

Started by Tim and Amy Wright, the Duluth Club continues it to raise money for a worthy cause while getting some of our top players terribly inebriated.

$28,600 I believe was the total raised this year. And boy was it a good time. I'd tell everyone to write this in for next year. I've never had more fun curling and having the excuse "I'm drunk for charity" is always nice to have. So give it a think for next year.
