Curling's Greatest Kidnappings!

No, not the illegal types. But the kind where you bring in a 'foreign' curler to help your squad. Obviously, the best kidnapping was when JJ brought in Kid Lawes as her vice but it doesn't qualify cuz Lawes was a fellow Manitoban.

Here's my top kidnappings -

1. Jeff Stoughton acquires Mark Nichols - a former Olympic gold medallist dropping down to lead to play with the guy who said his team had no chance at repping Canada. WOW. Now, Nichols is a classic lead with tons of experience, helping Jeff win another Brier. Really fitting in to life in Winnipeg as he's working here and curling here.

2. Jennifer Jones - bringing Ontarian Dawn Askin into her house. Askin has developed into curling's greatest lead, only now being challenged by Lisa Weagle.

3. Ryan Fry - but the snake-man has become curling's most prolific rent-a-curler. Have slider, will travel! Paladin!!!

Other prolific kidnappings - Johnny Mo (by Martin), that beautiful Quebec girl by Andrea Schopp, Georgina Hawkes (by Jennifer Jones), Patty Simmons (by Kevin Koe), Pat Ryan (by Ferbey), Jimmy Ursel (by Quebec).

Gotta be a few I missed.

It's mind boggling how you didnt mention Brad Gushue bringing aboard Russ Howard to curl with him in 2005 Olympic trials and the rest of history..

Kevin Martin didnt kidnap John Morris John Morris was already living in Alberta when Martin and Morris decided they would curl together

I guess I missed the big one there, chief.

Didn't think a 26 yr old boy, taking a 65 yr old legend hostage would qualify as a kidnapping but IT SURE WAS!!!
