Why does the site show Lawes playing. I thought Birchard had taken over for this event??

Lawes was back in the lineup for Team Jones for the second game after Shannon. Birchard stepped in during their first game Wednesday. With Lawes leaving for the Winter Olympics to compete in mixed doubles, Birchard will sub in at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Amusing

NOT one member of Team Cotter of BC is there. Or should I say resident of BC! Surely no points earned for any of them.

I think if you can't field a team of 3 of 4 team members, let another team have a chance. You're ineligible for any points anyway and you're taking a spot from a deserving team. Selfish johnny mo as per usual. LOOK AT ME!

What a disappointing game to watch. Bad strategy and bad misses. Last team NOT to miss wins. Only bright spot was Cameron. Great shooter and not afraid to let her skipper know the better call. ML, I see her with Lawes on the next Olympic run? You?

While you are waiting for ML to respond, let me jump in here and say i don't really see Cameron curling with Lawes next year.

First of all, as I have said on previous occasions, I think it would be in Lawes' best interest
to return to Alberta at the end of this season because the potential for her to assemble and develop a world class team there would be significantly easier than in Manitoba.

Assuming Cameron is prepared to move to Alberta ( is she ?) I can see her being a strong candidate for the team. But not as a 3rd. Perhaps as a 2nd. But even then, I believe there are several others in Alberta who have at least her skillset.

While Lawes would never admit it, I'm sure she's very, very disappointed that since joining this world class, top drawer team in 2010, after 8 years, she has won Scotties gold exactly once, and has never won World gold. True, she won Olympic gold in 2014 but overall , that's not a lot of championships. Certainly not what she or anybody else anticipated back in 2010.

TO ACHIEVE GREATNESS YOU NEED A SOLID PLAN AND NOT QUITE ENOUGH TIME.
