Not sure if its the 2yr. point list that will be used, but if so it looks like McCarville or Birt will become the final team

Official list now posted and McCarville is in.

However, curling is a game of opportunity and the chance to bill with Carey is exceptional. Carey already has a trial spot - she'll probably be rated #5 or #6, so if the front-runners falter she could very well be on the road to Soshi.

Also want to mention that Webster and Cathy O better have sworn affidavits from G.L. Ramsey, cuz if G.L. ever walk out, their spot is dead!

Good point...they'd better be nice to her! So Cathy still gets her pre-trials spot. Too bad the other 3 didn't think ahead and stay together to keep their place in the pre-trials. Still wonder how Geri-Lynn feels about the dumping of her friend Erin?

I would guess she's not to thrilled but she's probably going to stay and try and make the trials and then i wouldnt be surprised if she steps away from the team after that

It would have been great to see those 3 girls use that spot, it must have been that bad a situation to quit and give up that spot. Why wouldn't Cathy grab 2 of the others and pick up another and go to the trials? Makes you wonder does it not?

I don't think she's upset at all, her and Erin curling together for a long time doesn't necessarily mean that they were good friends, it may have been more of a business relationship.

Ouch that's the bus and G.L getting thrown under. I'm guessing she wanted to go to the pre-trials and these are the cards that got dealt. I'm sure she's probably struggling with it, unless she heartless!

Here's how it looks to me emotions out of it. The team made a lineup change to better their performance. The island girls were once curling's sweethearts so we feel for Carmody. We should remember that curling is a sport. Thats right that thing where people compete not were we make our BFFs. Maybe Erin didn't fit, have the commitment anymore or she's crazy, look who she's dating.

So continuing on. The team picks up one of the best women's thirds in game who happens to be a controversial talked about player. Webster overrated? Maybe but by who? The random ppl like me who write on here! Sooo she might suck, but hasn't had a player like Cathy in the line up ever. If Webster picked up any other player would this thread even exist? probably not, but what do I know?!

Honesty do we really care? They aren't going to do anything anyways so I don't see the concern. But then again I did write this!

Sounds like this may go back to back in March when Carmody chose to play in the Mixed Doubles Nationals over going to Grande Prairie with Team Webster and Cathy played instead.

Webster was still chasing for a Trials spot and winning (and a team dropping out of the Players) would have given them a shot at catching Chelsea Carey.

seems a little unfair. Erin saw the chance to rep Canada if they won at a world curling event and her and chris actually ended up doing quite well

Webster/Cathy O finished middle-of-the-pack in Grande Prairie. Would be surprised if they do much better at Kitchener. Of course with a TKO format a lot depends on luck of the draw. Anything can happen. Unlke the men's side there are no teams that seem like obvious favorites here.

If Webster and Overton-Clapham gel a bit there's no reason why they can't secure one of the two spots to Winnipeg. Of course, Crystal missing a ton of shots could be the biggest reason.

You listed Kelly Scott as someone she won't have to face in KW, but Scott is going to be at the Pre-Trials. Just because she doesn't have to face Homan, Lawton, Jones, Nedohin etc in the pre-trials doesn't mean there isn't a challenge.

You have two amazing pressure last rock throwers in Cheryl Bernard and Amber Holland. Don't count Shannon Kleibrink out of the mix, with or without Amy Nixon she still has a solid team. Laura Crocker has shown she is a force, Kelly Scott stands a good chance at getting a win. And don't count out Cathy Auld! She has a good little team, and proved at the Ontario Scotties this year she is not afraid to try any shot (sometimes successful others not so much!)

You know, when you look at the pre-trials field you have have to admit that crystal websters chances even now arent great.I'd rank her down at the bottom even among those teams

Im going with Kelly Scott and Cheryl Bernad to find their way through

Thank God for The Manitoba Legend!
If it were not for him, this site would have very little action.
3 out of 4 replies mention ML.
Perhaps he is God? Thank ML!

ML must have had an accident in his shorts when he heard about Over ton returning.

Now he can gleefully carry on his one man crusade against her while simultaneously continuing to fawn over Jones.

Hopefully Overton heard about Brian Burke's lawsuit and has retained counsel for the first time Legend steps over the good rest line, which could pretty much happen any moment.

Will Jolene be her third at the pretrials? I thought according to the CCA website, that the original Holland team that won the pretrial spot will be playing. Anybody know?

The CCA has removed the Road to Sochi list, but I believe Holland qualified based on the one-year list, so that would be her current team.
