Think not. They barely have running water and livery services up there!

On a serious note - JJ goofed in playing the draw. She got her primary nemesis, Ladyhawke Paetz in the semi-final vs. the final.

Jones would probably have a clean ticket into the final if she had been able to manipulate a semi vs. Moody Anna Sidorova.

Even though Anna clobbered Paetz 8-0 in their round-robin match - Paetz is a better skip and runs a better overall team than Sidorova.

JJ will have her hands full - and she probably won't go to post as the favourite!

Well it looks like JJ handled Paetz in the semis but lost to Sidorova in the final. Moiseeva stole the extra end to beat Paetz for 3rd.

Indeed, JJ turned the tables on the form chart - lambasting one of her great nemesis, Ladyhawke Paetz in the semi-final - but then succumbed to someone she routinely handles in the dour Miss Sidorova.

Even without the streaming and no video hi-lites a nice late May bonus to women's curling.

Only real question is why Bella Wrana was tossing 4th stones for Margarita Sigfriddson? Anyone know if it was just a manpower situation - or are they bringing Wrana aboard after a very distasteful season w/ CC Ostlund firing last stones?

appears as though cici just couldnt get there. there are teams registered for next season on the asham site and cici is with team sigfridsson.

i dont think its fair to place all the blame on cici for their poor season by the way. she's only 1 player. that team has been going down for a while now

Forget about CC - great person, not much of a last-rock thrower.

Anyways, the biggest winner out of this event - even though it was basically a glorified spring-summer cash spiel is

Anna Sidorova, no question. Thru thick 'n thin, she has kept n up 'n down team together; albeit with a bit of lineup shuffling - and a side-threat from the rapidly rising Victoria Moisseeva.

Anna not only delivered the scalp of a long-time tormentor (Jones) but also vanquished a more contemporary foe in Alina Paetz.

That has to buoy her confidence that she can win at the highest levels - not just timidly back into bronze medal games. Gold now appears within reach. And the Russian program is better for it!
