The coaching situation seems more like a Monty Python skit more then a smart plan. Why does Scotland have to go to Sweden to get coaching anyways ? Maybe the coach is even hand tied who knows really where this mess eminated from ? Nothing wrong with Murdoch but the whole situation sounds like it was Brewster's team and some bureaucrats decided that Murdoch was their man.

Morale of the story is Scotland needs to go back to playdowns and let Murdoch and Brewster recruit their teams or play together IF they want to.

Actually, I thought that the Scots played very well today(except for 9th end). They, especially Tom were very supportive of each other and Tom and David made some great shots.
Maybe the rotation would work if only for the front end players.
The second seemed the weak link today.

I agree! Team Brewster was developing just fine without intervention. They were so close to winning the World title last year. I dont understand stepping in and pushing Murdoch on them. Murdoch and Brewster should both be able to pick their own teams and vye for success with them, it is what has worked for both in the past. The Scots seem to have all these tinkering plans the last decade, they cant ever just leave well enough alone.

my prediction for how this plays out:

canada def. denmark

semi:

canada def. scotland

bronze:

scotland def. denmark

final:

canada def. sweden

I really think they will do well with a full day of rest

I picked denmark to medal at the start but if things play out the way i think i cant see scotland losing all 3 playoff games.

I'm right on the mark so far. Lets see if things end the way I predicted tonight

Analysis - good first end by both teams. Jacobs missed his first thru a port which would have put incredible pressure on Edin. He rolled 3 ft. too far with his 2nd stone which handed a deuce to Edin. Teams even but I'd score Edin at 100% and Billy Idol (Jacobs) at 33% but soft CCA scoring will put him at 50% for his efforts.

Problem was started by Fry's poor guard placement. Until then, Sweden was in trouble.

Canada has just won the Davis Cup tie in Vancouver against Italy to move into the semi-finals against Serbia. The end to a prefect day would also be a win against Sweden in Victoria.

no its not. Canada made the semis once before

in any case this really isnt appropriate in here is it? This has nothing to do with the world championship

Swedes now up 4-1.

Brad will have to GO JJ now.

He's in trouble and battling from behind against a 100% curler is gonna be a bit difficult, wouldn't you say?

Edin is curling much like Kevin Martin in his prime! Hence, K-Dini

Actually the sof weight shot he just made reminds me alot of the kinds of shots that the great Peja lindholnm would make all the time

This match has a very similar feel to the 2010 womens olympic final. The swedes came out of the gate strong and canada seemed a little nervous. Cheryl saved a swedish steal in the 6th and the momentum shifted to canada ..and then we know hoe it ended

What you want Brad to go sulk and pout in the corner?

Brad and his boys have an up hill climb, but its early in the game. Canada needs a break or two.

Some idiot yelled in Jacobs back swing. What a moron.

I remember a guy doing that in Saskatoon during a Ferby game.

I don't know if that is what caused Brad to miss his last shot, but someone should take that idiot outside.

Canada was in the Davis Cup semis in 1913 but there was not a World Group as there is now, so not really comparable.

Meanwhile, back at the curling...
