Did you not know typing in capital letters is rude.

It does not get your point across any better than a normal person who types properly.

FCOL, what's the matter, Curler 1, hasn't anybody in Brandon ever watched Archer? Surely somebody there understands the reason for the "caps". Nothing, whatsoever to do with rudeness, actually it's quite clever. NRN

I could not tell you what other people do or watch in Brandon.

As for me, I have no idea what Archer is, as I suffer severe depression and anxiety. I don't watch much Tv and I don't get out to see what others like to watch.

Only Canadians are silly enough to believe that the Olympics are not war, the rest of the world certainly approaches it as war. Canadians are good losers.....because they have had so much practice at it! I can't wait to see the posts when Koe falls out of the metals. I hope there is a post mortem forum, I can't wait to read the excuses!

I believe you are correct, the Olympics are war.
Seems to me also that too many holier-than-thou Canadians are still unduly influenced by the 200 year old perception that curling is still a "Gentleman's Sport". Additionally, they have way too much of a deeply ingrained ethos of "good sportsmanship".
That's okay at the club level, even good, but at the professional level........

Not Gold yet, that was the semi-final. They need to play Sweden for the gold.

Against Sweden in the SF'S, G.B. gave up 7 points in the last 5 ends alone but only 5 points in the entire game against Canada. Thanks a lot, M'H.

Perhaps you should read up about the Olympics... that it's all about the spirit of competition... the camaraderie... the respect for the sport, for the competition, and for the opponents...

sigh...

You obviously subscribe to the approach of doing absolutely anything to 'win' - no matter if it's unsportsmanlike, or unfair, or just plain stupid. Fine - you have revealed numerous times that this is your method of operation.

And it is people like you with this approach who define the term 'Ugly Canadian' - or 'Ugly American', or whatever your country is (hoping you're not Canadian).

You won't find too many people who want to win more than I do. I'm quite competitive. But I would never consider winning at any cost.
You go out there, play fair and respectfully, and may the better person or team win - fair and square.
Amazingly, you don't seem to realize that it's entirely possible to be fiercely competitive and strive to win AND play fairly while holding a respect for the sport and for your opponents. I hope you'll learn this at some point in life.

In these 2 weeks of the Olympic Games, I have seen countless displays of wonderful sportsmanship, fair play, and respect. Your little crush Homan's removal of the Danish stone stands out as the most unsportsmanlike gesture of these Games. Leave it to someone like you to take pride in that...

What an absolute joy it was to watch the South Korea / Japan Women's semi-final...

A very well played game from both teams who clearly respect each other, respect the sport of curling, and respect the Olympics. The quality of play was great, and it even came right down to the final rock in the extra end. Can't get better than that.

I, personally, was pulling for Japan, as those ladies are so enjoyable to watch, and they play the game as it should be played - always trying their best, but also very clearly enjoying themselves in the process.
That said, it's great that the home team has surprised everyone and gets to play for the Gold. I hope they get it.

Well, GBR lost (edited) the Bronze - so Glenn is in the same boat as Team Koe. Very Canadian of me to say, but 4th is not shameful. Not a podium, no. But a defeat? I would like to hear what Howard is saying to TeamMuirhead. Congratulations to Team JPN. #InTough. And GoKORgo.

Really pleased for Satsuki and her Japanese team. Especially after the disappointment of last season, not qualifying for worlds, to win a medal for a country that is already infatuated with them is awesome!

Poor Eunjung she was devastated after that loss. Great to see coach Peter giving her a big hug. Would have liked to see the bear/medal presentations...but no Canadians so CBC didn't bother.

They showed the medal presentation online - very moving. Team Bow. Might still be up on the Oly's CBC site. I felt bad for them, but the crowd cheered and cheered.

Korea

This could be the SE Ri Pak moment for Korean curling. Korean golfers now are 50% or more top 20-30 on LPGA. Watch for the curlers to follow over the next 5-10 years.

Or not. As Team Koe remarked after their disappointing finish(I'm paraphrasing) each of these nations, including Korea, has exactly one team. All the resources, training and money goes to the one team. Can you name the second best Korean team? China? Swiss, Sweden or Denmark? No, because the talent pool is one molecule deep.

actually, you are wrong. most of those countries do have more than one good team

sweden's is probably the shallowest in all of europe of the big nations. no one coming up after edin and on the women's side they have isabella wrana and that's it.

switzerland has paetz, feltscher, stern, and witschonke

on the men's side they also have pfister , schwaller, and hess

norway has walstad and ramsfjell on the men's side. women's side isn't all that great

scotland has mouat, bryce and drummond on the men's side after smith. on the women's side they have jackson and flemming as well as muirhead

denmark is really in a bad state. they have no one after the top teams

china is much the same way. they have the top teams and that's basically it

korea on the mens side has soo-hyuk kim as the second best team and the world junior winning men's team as well. on the women's side they also have un-chi gim, min-ji kim and the junior women's team.

japan after morozumi on the men's side is'nt that good but the women have chiaki matsumura and ayumi ogasawara

so , while they aren't as deep as canada , no most of those countries don't have just the one team. you and koe are both wrong

i can't believe people view allowing the international teams to come to canada as a problem. there is not one single curler on tour who will tell you it needs to be stopped. constantly playing the best teams in the world is a good thing.
