GNCC team wins under 18 competition. First ever US win.
Who says US can't win international competitions ? There is hope on the horizon

And the team from Washington won the bronze.

By the way, I am taking full credit for the win. Kent plays on my competitive team and the coach was my lead many moons ago. They both learned all the things NOT to do from me.

I've played with the Clawson boys a few times, they will be forces to be reckoned with for years if they stick with it, and I think they will.

There's a third Clawson boy too, and he's curling as well, just not quite experienced enough for the big stages yet (on the other hand, I think he's only like 11...)

Congrats to the Conn. and Wash. what a wonderful accomplishment, really proud of them. A local MN. teams finished a bit further down the list, but improved from last year and will build on this in the future I am sure, proud of those guys too. During the Olympics, Kevin Martin talked a bit about the various U programs in Canada. It was kind of interesting, he picked age 10 - better get started but at least that age which I thought was interesting. Seems to be the way things are headed, start early and specialize - anyway a good program and glad US teams get to participate.
