Major Changes to Saskatchewan Playdowns

Some pretty big changes to the way teams will qualify for the Men's Tankard with 10 berths to be earned through Tour berths/events, 6 berths through the playdowns:

Regional events had become almost useless.

Last year's format saw about 50 teams entered to play. 6 received direct entry to provincials (in a similar manner to above, just different quantities). The remaining teams played in their regional events to narrow the remaining field (~40-44) down to 32; and then there were 2 16 team triple knockout events for the remaining 10 spots (5 each); the event you were in was dependent on the region you curled out of.
