Russian Playdowns

Huge news out of Russia. Victoria moiseeva pulls off a massive upset and defeats anna sidorova in the european qualifiers. This is big news. sidorova had to be one of the preliminary favorites going in , she always is. Whats more she beat sidorova 4 times out of 6 to get there. beating sidorova once isnt easy.

While this is a massive upset its great news for russia to know that they have this 2nd team who can compete with and beat sidorova, it gives them some depth .

i dont know what this means for worlds..its possible sidorova may not be there either but as far as euros go..no sidorova

Huge upset for sure. It was actually just a best-of-seven between the two teams, with Moiseeva taking games 1,2,4 and 6.

Interesting side note, Sidorova is going as their alternate to Euros.

As for Worlds, their federation stated there will be another playdown to determine the rep.
