You would have been banned if I didn't LOL at that comment.

Best T-Shirt saying I have ever seen:

"It takes a lot of balls to golf the way I do"

The best teeshirt I've seen recently (except for the deep V one that my wife wears around the house):

There are 10 types of people in the world;
Those that understand binary language and those that don't.

OK, maybe only funny for NerdThird and BA Anderson...but I laughed.

Actually should be 0101...or A in hex and 12 in octal

Hey, I hear that part of the Labatt deal was to give the winner of Nationals a case of beer for each member of the team. So much better than going to Worlds.

JH
I would add a fifth just to get the extra case...

That's just crazy talk, Hannon. The two-fours of beer should go to the point leaders. The winners are just lucky and not dedicated.

I'm thinking that The Labatt National Championships in Philly should send some free product up to the broadcast booth. I'd make a wonderful Harry Carey.

TESN producers/directors/co-founders/presidents are exempt. Bring on the Blue!

These two are going to be there right?

So the winner gets bad Canadian beer given to them in Philly? Surely some Easties that moved to the Midwest for "work" can acquire something worthy of a champion. Start with Yuengling and work your way to smaller breweries until you find something you like.

And I think that JH needs to spend more time with his old vice (the rocket scientist) to know the difference between 2 and 5.

Unless that was a Mars Orbiter meters/feet joke that I wasn't smart enough to get.

The end of August approaches. That means the end of RAMBLIN' Some final thoughts.

The ramblin thread started a long time ago on ITH, thanks to Mike I still have some of those gloves. Over the years it has dropped off a bit. Gerry puts up with us posting nonsense here. Thanks Gerry!

The Sin Sity Spiel just posted to join them. Go and curl in Las Vegas. Yes the ice is not really "good" but who cares, you are in Vegas baby! Stay at the Palms, close to the rink and not that bad for prices. Small casino but good wine bar.

Tuck visited NYC again this summer and got to go to a Yankees game. He might never get to NYC again. Next he needs to see the sites in DC or Philly.

Horsies and bikes were not very exciting this summer. Golf, I want Tiger to win 18 majors and tie Jack. Probably gonna take a couple of years for that.

Sandy wiped out some of the LBI CC headquarters but NJ is "stronger than the storm". Will be down there soon to see what it looks like after a bit.

On the curling side of things:
1. I have finally made it to ice man emeritus. People have taken over (only took 4 years).
2. The USCA has lost its' mind (I include myself in that statement). I can only hope that the men make the Olys. Otherwise it could be the end. (just my opinion btw).
3. Not sure I will be curling this year, did not curl that much last year and did not miss it.
4. The bonspiel I ever played in multiple times has risen from the ashes. The City of Ottawa Mens' spiel lives again. For those of us from the East, playing in 3-5 clubs within BLOCKS of each other is just unknown. Go, play in it, lose 5 games, who cares, play at clubs within WALKING distance.

JH
do you care who wins the Pro Challenge or the Fedex cup?

If Tuck ever wants to see the sights in DC, I will volunteer to traipse back home to my old stomping grounds and be his tour guide.

I must be out of my mind.

Floor down to 25, frozen water starts tomorrow. I have reached Shorty status and will be there to oversee and nap on the couch.

We lost a "Harry" at the end of last season. Don Nicholson was a huge asset to Nutmeg and the ice crew. He will be greatly missed this year as we cut circles with the router bar that he built. Don we miss you and Shorty, Nutmeg would never exist without the both of you.

Jeff Hannon
Clarence was a great friend and I still wish I could talk to him.

shorty da man!

One of the great characters that curling has ever known, 10 minutes with Shorty talking curling and ice and you could write a book... Had the pleasure of playing in mixed final against Shorty in Utica ( yes the guy could actually curl ) helped that he had a former world champion playing third for him. Came down to the last shot, tie game Shorty had hammer, I had nothing tried to get behind a corner left open hit for Shorty to win. He slids out spins the stone like a crazy man and misses take-out by 2 feet. I said" Shorty what the Hell was that" He said "I guess your buying".... He was one of a kind, and I'm sure the ice has never been better in Heaven....

Funny, I was there for that mixed, knew the outcome but never knew how it ended exactly.
As curling ice is going in this time of year all over the world, there will be a lot of people thinking of Shorty.
