Does no one consider a 2 year ban for a first infraction rather harsh? Regardless of where the ruling body controls this decision (Canada or Olympics) it's too large in my opinion. When honest mistakes are possible (and they certainly are) then a first infraction should be given a lesser sentence.

I also have little trust in the judgment of decisions on how certain things are deemed legal and other not. And frankly, I care very little as it pertains to tis sport. Deer antler spray, anyone?

a warning letter would have been adequate

another decision i didnt care for is when they wouldnt allow ed to compete in the trials 20 years ago because he didnt meet their fitness criteria

Wrong. Please get your facts right.

It was 26 years ago and Ed Werenich did compete in the trials. He also met the fitness criteria that was expected of him and every other competitor who qualified for the trials through the tryout camps. Four teams came from those camps, the other four from the 86 and 87 Briers.

nit picker... my facts are close enough to correct that i have about the same respect for the cca as i do for spying lying governments

and it would be nice if cf 's verify numbers were legible..

20 or 26 doesnt affect the fact that warren hansen didnt think his tummy was small enough to play .. odd that you would think it should..

You're the only fool. Neither of my posts condone or supported the CCA's fitness criteria (which applied to everyone back then). What I did was correct your errors so people wouldn't be mislead.

I shouldn't have to point out the obvious to you, but any fool can own a laptop and make posts with whatever false info they like that fits their personal agenda.

Wondering a few things.

If a 5th man were to test positive at the Olympics and despite not playing any games would only that player be banned? Or would the entire team be stripped of medals? If answer is yes, then does the Worlds have different rules?

Also, why did this take so long to come out (July). They would have known test results in April, so what happened for 2 months? Any other sport and we all would have known right away, so what was going on here?
