Asham Adjustable Attachment
Anyone have this item?
Asham Adjustable Attachment
for putting a hair head on any broom shaft.
Does it fit into either 1" or 1 1/8" broom handles?
I believe I've seen it on hardline brooms. Curious if it fits onto brooms with wider ends on them like balance plus brushes.
https://www.asham.com/product/asham...e-attachment-17
I wasn't able to find another product anywhere like it.

I will say all this is to the best of my knowledge, but I am fairly certain it is correct....
That attachment should fit straight in on Performance, Hardline, and Asham handles. I believe to fit a Balance Plus handle it needs the adaptor sleeves included on the standard performance head to make it fit those handles as well. So, if you already have a BP brush with performance head, the sleeve pieces should have been included.
Also, to the best of my knowledge, all brands that have 1" and 1-1/8" handles have the same inside diameter at the bottom to universally accept the same heads. So that should not cause you any problems.
I know several players that use this attachment to keep their same handle and switch from synthetic to hair when they want to. I have not used it myself, but it seems like a reasonably good buy.

I just got one of these and it went on a 1" broom handle/shaft so the adapter pieces weren't needed.
If you're putting it on a 1-1/8" shaft, like the tapered BalancePlus, then you'll need something and the standard performance adapter doesn't seem to fit. The spines of the attachment seemed to be too wide for the adapter sleeve gap. Maybe you can get an adapter specific for the attachment.

It is unfortunate to hear that the sleeves for the performance heads don't fit onto that attachment for using with the 1-1/8" BP handles. But, that is only for the BP handles. I know for certain it fits into my Performance Signature 1-1/8" handle perfectly without using the sleeves because I borrowed that handle to a friend and asked him earlier to confirm. I suspect the same could be said about my 1-1/8" Hardline handle since the Icepad head fits both that and my Performance Signature handle. So, I think you only run into problems with BP products using it. Maybe that is why they sell a BP handle with the metal attachment glued to the shaft end already.

Watching the games on tv today I noticed lots of players using the balance plus lite speed handles with hair heads.

The Performance and Hardline heads are tapered at the head so even if you have a 1-/8" handle, it is 1" at the head. It's not just BP, Goldline 1-1/8" handles will have the same problem. Asham 1-1/8" brooms that aren't tapered need an adapter, too, so they have to be available.

I guess it is possible that things have changed, but the last Asham carbon fiber brush I owned from several years ago had an internal taper. So, even though it was a straight 1-1/8" handle, the bottom end of the carbon fiber was thickened internally so I did not need to use the adapter sleeves with the performance head. Again, as I said, maybe they're doing it differently now.
