I officially withdraw my earlier comments about Erika-they were not meant to be insulting in any way-and as was shown this week in Toronto they still has a few "Stones left in the House"-again, not to be interpreted as insulting in any way...

BUT

Having said that, where the heck are their sponsors' crests??? With those plain blue sweaters, they look practically naked out there compared to the other rinks! The other rinks look like entries in NASCAR for Pete's sake! I see what appears to be a tiny patch on the sweaters but the American rinks should have huge sponsors' patches everywhere...

speaking of which, some entrepreneur with international operations including Russia could probably pick up a package deal-rumour has it that Anna's rink is "looking for rubles", if you know what I mean. (Russian government money doesn't go as far as it used to)

Oh, Jimbo. You are so, so, so very Canadian. A pole vaulter has more marketing impact than a curler in the USA. Any "sponsor" down here is, in reality, a "donor". Any marketing exec down here that goes to a client and suggests value in supporting a curling team should (and would) lose his job.

But times, they are a-changing. Growth will bring dollars eventually.
