Stuck in Ottawa for 2 weeks...

... and I need a curling fix.

Her Majesty has requested my presence in Her Nation's Capital for a couple of weeks (10-21 Dec) because, for some strange reason, someone is thinking that I'm moderately competent for a government employee.

Which sucks, as it's dragging me away from the Wet Coast and my normal curling and drinking. So I was thinking of dragging my gear out with me and seeing if I can find someone who might need a spare.

I have no talent (most of the time, even though I do have a few moments... which occasionally I can string together), but I can drink and I'm on expenses. I may even buy a round or two.

(Actually, I'm not that bad on the ice... most nights.)

Anyway, any of you boys (or girls) have an ideas who might need a spare or which clubs I can hit up, let me know.

Try the Ottawa CC
Dalal is the sexy manager. She might be able to put you on to a team.
Otherwise show up and offer your service.
The OCC is a very friendly club and curlers are always willing to drink up if someone else pays.

Somehow I don't think I'm luring anyone out of retirement... except if she wants to come back for beer.

Which might be as good incentive as any. Who needs another provincial patch when you've got free beer?

Anyway... I'm still looking for a game or three (and thanks to those of you who let me mess things up for you on my last trip... I had a lot of fun!). If you're looking for a spare between the 14th and the 25th (or maybe if you need someone for a spiel...that's within reasonable driving distance from Ottawa), just sent me an email.

Back again - Feb. 25 - Mar. 15

Looks like I was given a wee bit of break to practice my curling back in BC... but now I need to head back to Ottawa for a few weeks (Feb. 25 to Mar. 15).

If you need a spare, drop me a line. I'm still on expenses, so I can still spring for that first round...
