Does anyone believe that Shuster's 'draw' at the NHL outdoor game last night (Maple Leafs vs. Capitals) was legitimate?
It stopped dead centre on the centre ice face-off circle.

Firstly, he threw what appeared to be take-out weight from about halfway between the goal crease and the blue line. Granted, there was no pebble on the ice - but still... Secondly, watching replays of it, it certainly appeared to suddenly - and rather suspiciously - die right dead on the face-off circle.
Thirdly - as mentioned, the ice was obviously not pebbled. It was outside. It was from a distance he was unfamiliar with, and in conditions he was unfamiliar with.

Conclusion: No way he legitimately threw it dead on the face-off circle.
Of course, to those who don't know the intricacies of curling, it looked like a perfect shot. But... no way.

Does anyone know what trickery they used to do it?

even under perfect conditions the ceremonial first rock is guided by the sweepers to be a perfect rock this might be a nudge with a foot or a well placed broom ...
