Kaitlyns replacement is totally irrelevant unless they win in Killarney.

Thanks for doing the scoring and sorry, I did not check PEI curling.

No problem. Was frustrated with why curlingzone did not post the final results. It was pretty much back to back when the games finished and I when I updated the scores. Took me probably 30 seconds to do both.

I think most people figured out what the result was. Technical issues happen, but most of the time you can watch the results from all over the country at the same time on one site.

Kaitlyn replacement

Kaitlyn will need to be replaced even if Jones doesn't win Manitoba because they will still be in the play-in game on points I believe. Although at that point they can probably pick from other teams that are out of the running for the Scotties. If they win Manitoba the sub must be from Manitoba I guess. If they don't the sub for the play-in game could be from anywhere as it is a CTRS team? Just a question.

Great points. However, if Jones gets tossed around like yesterday's garbage this weekend - I can't see her even wanting to accept a points entry to BC STOH - if she can't handle some of the lambs & fawns in Manitoba - whats gonna happen in BC?

Without Kaitlyn's consistently putting in 80 to 88% performances Jones will be facing increasingly tougher shots. Its obvious JJ is struggling with a variety of on-ice issues this year.

On the other side - she's 42 and desperate for any kind of Hearts appearance, even if she'd be considered an also-ran from the get-go.

Jones personality always says next week is a fresh slate - she's a gamer and she's won the 2nd most amount of games in STOH history. If she gets stomped in Manitoba she'll be able to select a defeated player as Kaitlyn's replacement - someone like Birchard, Einarson, Kaatz, Meiileur, Meakin (Knapp), etc.

At this point I'd say she's got at least a 40% chance to win Manitoba outright - w/ Kaitlyn firing on all cylinders.

If she goes to BC with a lower-tier replacement I'd put her at 7% chance to gold, 20% chance to medal.

Scotties end in BC on the 4th. Mixed doubles start on the 8th. It is a tight window, but even if she plays in the final, she would be able to arrive on the 6th. Now is it too tight to do it that way?

Should they lose in Killarney (a distinct possibility) wouldn't Jones have a distinct possibility of trampling into the Scotties via CTRS points?

Watching a not very good game for the Ontario STOH...wish they had the ability to switch to a better game like Inglis vs Harrison.

I think it would be...a long flight to Korea. Coach Jeff will want Katelyn well rested before her Olympics with John.

Ontario looks like fun

Seems like Middaugh, Tippin, Flaxey and Harrison are all gone.
Auld vs Inglis in 1v2, Duncan vs Heggestad in 3v4. Have any of them won before? Doesn't look like it. I guess there will be first time rep out of Ontario.

Definitely! None of them have won Ontario but Duncan did win the Juniors once I think. Surprised at the others dropping so quickly especially Middaugh.

In Quebec , Bélisle is in the final. Larouche is in the semis where she waits the winner of the tiebreaker between Roxane Perron and Émilia Gagné that is being played right now.

Does anybody know the cut off date for CTRS points for the two highest non qualified teams to be in the last chance play-in game? Maybe after next week's grand slam ?

The team that won Quebec (Emilia Gagne) is a completely new one to me. Does anyone know anything about them? She knocked off both Larouche and Belisle to win.

Well she's may not be going to the Olympics but now Cheryl K is going to Penticton! Team Duncan may have their work cut out for them...

Einarson vs Carey

Will be played on the eve of the STOH in BC.

Einarson better pick up her game if she wants to have a sniff of playing the full tourney. She was putrid last couple days of Manitoba Scotties.

Einarson & Kaatz were barely talking to each other - the front end looked aloof and distant. Something is definitely off.

Carey and Cathy O aren't no cup o tea but Carey is a quality shot-smith who rarely drops under 65/70% while Cathy O certainly over-matches on Selena Katz. Joss Peterman is an elite 2nd - Lizzy Fyfe is NOT, leads are about equal, edge to Laine just on experience!

Einarson will be fortunate to drag it out to last rock but I see them shaking hands after 8 or 9.

Gagne is a junior team that lost the Quebec Junior Finals to St. George this year.

What happened is there were only 5 senior teams that entered the playdowns. Curling Quebec invited 3 junior teams to fill the field set at 8. Gagné went 2-4 and finished 3rd out of 5 teams.
Gagné won Québec juniors last year as a second for Camille Boisvert.

According to Gagné, the big difference was in the eight end, she was looking at 4 without hammer on her last and she made the perfect freeze that forced Bélisle to take one.

I am mostly going off the article below.
