Although it's still (extremely) early, here are my predictions for the Canada Cup, partly based on the 2014-15 season's results.

Men's Predictions:
McEwen 6-1
Jacobs 6-1
Koe 4-3
Gushue 4-3
Simmons 3-4
Laycock 2-5
Epping 1-6
Carruthers 1-6

Women's Predictions:
Homan 5-1
Jones 3-3
Sweeting 4-2
Fleury 4-2
Rocque 2-4
Middaugh 2-4
McDonald 1-5

This will obviously change as the new season begins, we'll just have to wait and see

Best news ever today. Stemlaw is gone. Guy who made curling a rich man's sport can go kill some other game. Good riddance. You never understood or threw a stone. Now maybe we can take back the sport and make it what it should be.

I do not think Stremlaw started the Cda Cup. It was already running before he was appointed.

It's odd that the years from 1973 to 1979 Canada had no success at world's but probably highest participation in Canada, certainly in BC.

Jamcan implied it. He stated in a thread about the CC that Stremlaw made curling a sport for the rich. I assume he was saying the Cda Cup is a tournament for the rich and that Stremlaw was somehow responsible for that.

I'm pretty sure Jamcan didn't mean that. The Canada Cup is not the reason Jamcan thinks that Stremlaw caters to the elite curlers. Things such as Team Canada and playing in different provinces are the type of thing I think Jamcan is referring to. If I'm wrong I apologize.

when it comes to the Brier and Hearts, Stremlaw follows what the member associations vote for. The leaders of the various provinces and territories voted for pre-qualification (relegation) and for Team Canada. Curling Canada can't just arbitrarily change that.

I see they have increased the men's field to eight teams while the women are still at seven.

The reason why an extra men's team is in CC is because Simmons gets invited as Brier champ (their team was actually 10th on CTRS) which left Carruthers and Epping almost tied for final spot (Epping is just .73 points below Reid).
