Vancouver Island Shoot-Out

First off I would like to thank all those who have competed in the Vancouver Island Shoot-Out in the past 3 years. Our vision was to get a competitive cash spiel back up and running on the Island. The spiel has progressed the last few years, getting bigger and better each season. We are truly grateful to all the curlers that helped make it happen.

Unfortunately due to the Victoria Curling Centre holding the Men�s Island Playdowns this coming December, we are unable to run it next season. We plan on doing everything it takes to get it back up and running in 2014 and hope that you will once again join us.

No westcoast Classic and no Vancouver Island shootout next season. Going to be some travel involved to play any cash spiels next year.

The tentative Wct schedule for 2013/2014 only listed Vernon for cash events west of Alberta. No Kamloops, No kelowna, No Seattle. I am sure the schedule will be updated to include some of these events but I wonder if it makes it any tougher to attract out of province teams by not being on the first posted schedule. It is pretty obvious that we aren't filling our spiels with teams from BC, and I am sure some teams will be looking at next years schedule soon.
