Norway Championship

I'm trying to figure out how they decide their champion. They had a pool of 8 teams but only played 5 games to get to the playoffs. Walstad beat Ulsrud in the championship final but they still played 2 more games. Was it best 2 out of 3? Will Walstad go to worlds or will Ulsrud be "selected"?

Based on google translate of a Norwegian news article, Walstad won the spot to go to Worlds.

Norway still selects the team that goes to Worlds, so they set some minimum qualifications on how a team does over the course of the season to be eligible to be considered.

This is the first year in a while that more than just Ulsrud was eligible to go to Worlds as Steffen Walstad had a strong year on Tour.

The playdown was 16 teams in pools of 4. Top 2 teams from each pool advanced to two pools where they played 2 crossover games. From there, the top two teams out of each crossover pool (A played D, B played C) advanced to the semifinals where they played for the Norwegian Championship.

Had Ulsrud or anyone but Walstad won the National Championship, Ulsrud would be heading to Edmonton. With Walstad winning, they played a Best-of-Three World Challenge with the Final counting as the first game.

Ulsrud won the 2nd game of the challenging setting up a final game this morning to determine who would be going to Worlds.

So who won the 3rd and decisive game?

Scores were posted on the right in the scoreboard. Did you try checking there?

Yes - but I thought the result currently posted was simply the final of the Norwegian Championship - which, as you explained, would count as game 1 of 3 of the 'playoff' between Ulsrud and Walstad...

But, upon looking more deeply, I see now that the result currently posted is, in fact, for the 3rd game.
Thanks.

So Walstad it is...
