So this event, the final event of the curling season (along with the senior worlds) takes place in a little over a week. I wont do a team by team analysis because that would take way to much time but my thoughts on the contenders and groups:

RED GROUP:

its an interesting group. Its hard to pick who will come out since there isnt any real standout. The czech republic has a different tea then the one that has represented them the last 2 years. I think Hajkova and Paul made a really strong pairing so ..dont think this team will be as tough. Switzerland doesnt look as strong as normal on the surface but they didnt last year either. Denmark has the dupont siblings that started hot a couple years ago and faded and russia seems to always have a strong pairing at this event. Might not want to overlook the young US team either

Think that Switzerland and russia will get out of the group clear and denmark and the united states will have good chances as well

GREEN GROUP:

There is one stand out team in this group and thats sweden. this team has been here plenty of times and probably will go undefeated in group again. Not familiar with any of the other pairings but I will say Norway, austria and finland will be the other teams battling to get out.

BLUE GROUP:

The favorites in this group have to be hungary. former champions and 4th place last year they are one of the best mixed teams in the world . Canada will be respresented very well this year and , in my opinion have their best chance ever at winning this event. These 2 are the best in the group and it will be surprising if they arent 1st and 2nd in some combination at the end of group play. spain, scotland and maybe korea will also battle to get out of group
