CCA has the nerve to send letter requesting money!

I just got a letter from CCA requesting a donation! I guess because I have donated money to curling clubs via the CCA fund they picked my name up. They claim they need the money for "kids curling".

Here is a better suggestion, take the millions of taxpayer money you are given, cut your staff to a reasonable number and use that money for the purpose it was given to you, to promote curling rather than overpay a few of your buddies to work for CCA.

It will have to rain hard in the desert before I give CCA one cent!

Maybe we should send the prepaid envelope back to CCA empty. The post office could use the work!

The CCA must be taking lessons from the USCA. The USCA hired a full-time fundraiser, one of whose first acts was to write an email to the membership asking for donations(!) Go figure.

Best use for it I can think of! I wonder if CCA hired a fund raiser? Money for salaries but not causes!

I agree that it was a bit of a surprise to have the CCA solicit funds for curling. I believe the best way to support curling is to support your own local club. You can bet that some of the funds collected by the CCA will be skimmed off the top. Putting your money into your own club is a better way.

Excellent point, I would rather fund money for my own club or any inititives supporting junior curling for those kids whose parents might not be able to afford to pay for a membership.

If I knew exactly what my money was being used for - then I may consider it. No, I won't be funding elite curlers either.

I just looked at the OCA Entries for the Junior Zones - entries are way down for both men and women! Not a good sign. Canary in the Coal mine.

Yep, I have a soft spot for the kids at the local clubs. Now if we could just get more of them in!
