meeting curlers

I think its great a lot of them stick around and meet the fans and sign autographs after the events. Kids love getting to meet them so much too. Does anyone want to share any stories about meeting them that stand out in their minds.Could be getting to meet your favorite one or just a story of one who went above and beyond, anything of that nature?

this was a planned meeting. My husband was raised in a military family and lived in Germany, the same time that Joann Rizzo's family was posted to Germany.

Since facebook, they became friends again. They were coming to curl in Morden, Mb, and my husband who says he hates curling, well I love it wanted to go to see Joann.

Not being a Middaugh fan, I was not too excited but a way we went.

Well, I know now that you cannot take what you see on TV and think something of a person.

Sherri and I talked for hours. She is the nicest, most down to earth person I have ever met.

Going to watch them we also got pictures with the Jones team who were also there curling.

On the other hand...Brandon held a Grand Slam event a few years back. I got an invitation to the meet and greet in the bar. The only team that showed up for the evening was the Kevin Martin team. That was a downer and I am sure as well for the organizers who had everything set up so nicely with snacks and drinks.
