Does anyone out there have experience with using a commercial product to cover your ice so another event can be held? More specifically has anyone covered their ice up in a curling club setting?

If your club has, or if you know of someone who had experience with covering the ice, good or bad; could you pop me an email derekpap@gmail.com I'd like to pick your brain and ask you a few questions.

I suggest you ask hockey/skating arenas the same question.
NHL arenas cover their ice all the time - for concerts, basketball games, etc. Of course, they've got lots of money to acquire the best materials (but it seems that they use some type of wood much of the time.

Covering curling ice might be a little more delicate, though, because any slight change in the ice conditions would likely affect the curling more than a slight change would affect a hockey game.
