Just wondering what the feedback is out there on ice conditions during the MB Open.

Fort Rouge has been receiving wonderful comments on our ice conditions consistently throughout the spiel.

The latest comment we received was emailed to us this morning :

"Just wanted to drop FRCC an email to let you know that today, Jan 17th, 2015, 9am, I curled at FRCC for the first time ever. I have curled in the MCA now for about 5 years and this was by far the best ice I have ever curled on. It was so consistent. As a front end player I was able to call weight out of the rock thrower's hand within a foot or two. No guessing. Great job on the ice making! I'm looking forward to the next time I get to curl at FRCC." from Jim

What is the buzz out there ?

Rating my 6 game MCA expeeience for ice conditions:
Best to worst....
1. east St paul
2. Thistle
3. CharleswoodThistle
4. Ross-mere
5. Heather
6. Deer lodge

Best ice in the city is a toss up between these 4:
Charleswood
Granite
Fort Rouge
Thistle

Garth and Reese are at the top, no doubt

Here's an excerpt from the notes of the wind-up banquet, from Deer Lodge's website:

President Vic Palles reappeared at the podium for one last special announcement.
This concerned Ice Making Plans for the 2015 -2016 season.
He announced that the club will be contracting with Garth Reimer's company to manage our ice. He has the contracts for a few clubs in the city. He and his teams of ice technicians were responsible for the ice last year at the Granite, Charleswood, Thistle and Wildewood curling clubs. We all know that the Wildewood is closing.
Garth will also install a Reverse Osmosis water system at our club over the summer to bring us up to the state of the art for the making of keen ice.
Vic stated that it was the club's strong desire that our junior ice technician Brandon Cohoe be employed by Mr Reimer to be the main technician at our club to continue his development so that in the future Brandon would be able to take over from Garth at Deer Lodge.

The ice caps are also melting, and the water levels in the ocean are rising. If we don't take action to reduce emissions and slow the rate of climate change, the consequences bitlife will be catastrophic. The rise in temperature is already causing more extreme weather events, like hurricanes, floods, and droughts. These events are costing lives and billions of dollars in damage.

The temperature was perfect, too- it was just right for my needs. I would definitely recommend curl at FRCC mapquest driving directions to anyone looking for a great experience.
