top 10 seeds

With the select only a couple weeks away who will be in the top 10 seeds? Here's my thoughts,

1)McEwen
2)Carruthers
3)Stoughton
4)Grassie
5)Peters
6)Lyburn
7)Ramsay
8)Loreth
9)Dunstone
10)Muntain

That looks pretty close to me, although I'd maybe try to squeeze Calvert and Kolomaya in, somewhere between 6 to 10.

Looks fairly accurate. I would probably put Dunstone ahead of Loreth and maybe switch Lyburn and Peters around. While I agree that Reid should be seeded second based on the year they've had, I have a hard time seeing them placed ahead of Stoughton on the official rankings.

1. McEwan - Best in the World right now
2. Stoughton - worst team he has ever had?
3. Carruthers - Prob better than Jeff, but still 3rd Musketeer.
4. Grassie - Bully of The MCT, not sure they are actually good.
5. Ramsay - Seem to win lots and have better time than anyone.
6. Peters - Rats in a crawl space.
7. Loreth - Gotta like 3 Fat Guys and a midget.
8. Lyburn - Only Grassie has a better Coach/Mascot/Dead weight?
9. Gunner - Great Junior curlers are average Men's curlers.
10. Funtain - bringing some guns to a knife show!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love the Funtain train, but I don't think you can disclude the Bohn team back to their original format. They've had great showings at previous Safeway's. And Stoughty gets the nod for the experience factor over Carruthers. In no way taking anything away from Reid though.

But he's still Jeff F'n Stoughton, an 11-time Manitoba champion. Throws the rock as good as anyone in the game - ever! The question remains, does he have the edge necessary to run rampant?

jeff has had some stinker season before and then come to provincials and he won. He just knows how to raise his game at this time of year.Thats what great teams do. shake off a crappy season and focus on the big goal.

I myself would seed like this:

1. Mcewen
2. Stoughton
3. Carruthers
4. Grassie
5. Lyburn
6. Ramsay
7. Bohn
8. Dunstone
9. Peters
10. Muntain

The top 3 seeds are virtually a lock. We all know Mike, Jeff and Reid will be in the top three in some order. The interesting debate is who the next three seeds will be (seeds 4-6). Does Grassie get the fourth spot ahead of Lyburn? The sixth seed could be Ramsay, Peters, or even Dunstone/Gunnlaugson.

My 4-6 rankings would be:
4. Grassie
5. Lyburn
6. Peters

No real surprise, with the Top 5 revealed this morning:

Mike
Jeff
Reid
Lyburn
Grassie

The only real question this year, is can Mike overcome the demons and take what, honestly, is rightfully his this season...

Well, you know what I mean. Nothing in curling is guaranteed, but to not have the team that's clearly the best in the world right now, at the Brier would be a big mistake. But that's curling...you just never know.

Not sure why Carruthers is rated so high. I'll put Ramsay, Loreth and Daley over him. Gunnlaugson is still gonna turn some heads. Even after tanking his first game

Another stupid comment...not so sure Mike would appreciate someone making this comment either! You win if you play good and the chips fall your way, curling doesnt work by rights. However I am very sure he will be in the final 4.

PattyMac made it simple for readers to judge his character after he insulted two people by calling their forum contribution dumb and stupid. He is not sure if Mike would "appreciate" a comment. Thoughtful of him to be concerned and protective of Mike's feelings.
Keep it up and Mike will recruit him! (I'm laughing now)

Carruthers is now on the B side after losing to Marnoch
