Scotty or USA will be a handful for KK - even Joel/Italy could upset the tomato cart . . . Scotland had a rough landing in Lethbridge but seem to have found their amazing sea legs - USA is an enigma. They can be best in world on any given draw - but also worst. Shuster is as good at draws as Gushue - Emma Miskew is a far better hitter, though!

PS. Great West Life re-branding to Canada is odd. Bet they'll still be training their new stock to go after and pillage hi school grads and university students to sucker punch them for policies? Someone should put Guido on these "salesmen" - they'd die of verbal poisoning within minutes!

Team Koe may have finished 3rd in RR play but they easily won the gold medal for least sincere post-game handshakes with their opponent.

So, let me get this straight. It's not important to shake hands with people if they don't speak English. Nice. You should take a break from posting while you learn something about decency and respect for curling.

My analysis of QF game Scotty vs. Canuckia

Koe will have his hands full. Would have been better off facing USA. Shuster is as good, prolly better draw-master than Koe or even Mouat but his weakness is obviously hitting. He's simply not as sharp as Mouat or Koe.

Mouat will torment Team Koe to no end. Koe opens with the hammer, but with the knowledge they played a horrid final end vs. Mouat to avoid berth in semi-final.

Teams are pretty close mano a mano. Obviously big age gap but Mouat reminds me of a young Gushue (thats a compliment) and will torment you end after end with superior rock positioning.

Koe tries to place almost every stone in perfect spots (often they do this) but when they don't they can actually help their opponent. With a young monster like Mouat that could be fatal.

I think both Koe & Bruce will be in the 85%+ range. The difference might occur in a span of 3 to 12 inches of rock placement in 1 or 2 ends.

Good run by both teams. Scotland came out of the chute rather lame but they've found their sea legs and will be all hepped up to stun Canada.

Koe came out of the chute fast (unfamiliar for the usually sleeping giant) but have come down to earth with 3 stinging losses in their final 7 games.

All matchups are important. But I'm extremely interested in watching BJ play his biggest game ever vs. one of the most up 'n coming 3rds in the game, Grant Hardie.

Should be a gooder. Extra end or block-buster final stone in 10 will be the result 85 to 90% of the time.

10% chance Canada has to chase an early Scottish steal and ends up snapping the velcro after 8 or 9.

Bit silly to underestimate Koe, but this is coming from ML who thinks Jennifer Jones is retiring based on missing out on the playoffs from Scotties, so . . .

Big Crowds

I'm really impressed by the big crowds... Lethbridge has been a fantastic host for sure. The ice has been super and don't think you could ask for better conditions.

Might be fairer to teams , fans, and family if in the playoffs each team has 5 minutes to play 9th and 10th and ee .

Don’t think Scotland had a chance on last shot - no time to think to boot and announcers weren’t sure abt much in last couple of rushed ends

Lots of time if it’s a hit game - think last one of those was 1974

I believe the only skip that was going to beat the young Scots today was Koe. Man those lads seem to have ice in their veins.

As per usual you are a complete idiot writing off a great team mid-event Reminds me of the year Glenn Howard won the world championship and you completely wrote them off 4 games into the Brier.

Koe has as good a chance as anyone to win the gold at this event and would be my pick to win at this point. At no point would anyone in their right mind say that Koe against Sweden or Japan is totally outmatched like you did this week. Of course, you aren't a bright boy so no surprise when you make these ridiculous pronouncements.

Team Koe played like the form chart said they should.

Kevin monstered up the top Scotty Mouat 94 to 85 (one of the best games I've ever seen KK play, and there's been a ton of them)

Meanwhile, BJ hung in with the Scottish Superman Grant Hardie, virtually identical percentages, BJ was 1% lower)

Colton, in his first world semi was expectedly hesitant and lost his battle to Bobby Lame while Benny held Hammy McMillan to a virtual stand-off at lead.

Just too much shot-pelting for the savvy Scots to handle.

Form chart says Koe should advance past Suisse but upsets always loom.

Biggest test is vs. Sweden. Edin is every bit the killer that Koe is. Oskar will really sink his hooks into BJ while the Swedish front can hang with any front end in the world - and rarely gets dominated.

Amazing quad by Koe facing 4 in the 3rd end - just when it looked like Benoit had turned the tide - he has to politely draw vs. 2 and trail 2-1 after 3.

Some of the shots in this CAN-SUI game are incredible. The ultra-thin doubles are outrageous, so outrageous that I can't even believe they are calling them. It's crazy to think that there is an even better team waiting for the winner in the final.

I agree about the dubious hammer choice. That seemed wrong to me.

Good crowd in Alberta. I know why they want to rotate host countries, but having seen the crowds of 20-30 people watching in Denmark last month, I think we need to hold all future championships in Canada. I'm pretty sure the players wouldn't argue either.

It’s okay to be factually incorrect.

So how did they determine hammer in first end for playoff games?
