I have to agree, this isn't curling camp or a bonspiel...not sure how this helps the teams except avoid having to put on a tiebreaker game somewhere.

Was very excited about 2010 0lympics in Vancouver - " peak interest " in our house .
We still watch most games thou less from asia at 3 am - we are 70s so we enjoy games in mountain zone more than eastern seaboard where we fall asleep Bt 10
TV v iewing is declining in all sports - sponsors are retiring - expect the roR to be exciting like the brier always is but if CAnada stumbles in early games at olympics and only Canadian games get covered - low ratings , retirements - and sponsorship withdrawLs will possibly change things dramaticly

Still no answer for 2016-17
"The two additional teams were added based on their performance on the 2016-17 Canadian Team Ranking System"
As quoted by Curling Canada for the 2 additional spots.
The CTRS teams are supposed to be added "Highest ranked team on the 2016–17 CTRS NOT ALREADY QUALIFIED for the Trials or Pre-Trials"
AGAIN, 2016-17 ..... not requalifying, prequalifying, dequalifying, from previous years totals.
You've bumped teams "Already qualified" to different qualification spots
How then is it possible they recalculate the TWO YEAR TOTAL 2015-2017 to include the additional teams?
Is it indeed 2016-17 as stated or do whatever you want to the CTRS points over the years to make it 2015-17?
Someone please from CCA or CC explain.

This is not a CCA site. If you have any questions for the CCA, perhaps you should write or call the CCA?

I think it's time to accept that no one cares as much as you. You're missing the entire point. The entire point of the trials is to select the best team to represent Canada. They don't have to be fair, they can set their own rules, and they can do whatever they want, all in the name of getting to what they feel is the best team. If they want to add 2 more teams that's well within their right. If tomorrow they announced that the trials were cancelled and they named the representatives with no playdowns, a la Great Britain, that would be well within their right too.

I would think they should be fair and transparent.
