I think she will need it in a final.
Today's game vs. USA was classic Jones - absolutely CLASSIC . . . .
JJ gets a substantial lead - abandons her amazing offensive gameplan - gradually fritters away lead and then needs a hero shot by who else? JJ
TO WIN . . . .
Like I've maintained all season - Jones might be scooping up a ton o' money, beating inexperienced teams to win her 6th Scotties - but way too much errant shooting - ie. routine extra point draws, poor roll action, giving opponents too many outs!
If Sweden throws up a 4 x 90 performance I think Jones chances at gold stand around 15 to 20%
If Sweden tosses up 4 x 80s - then Jones chances approach 45 to 50%
Not bad, not bad at all.
Jones is a survivor - and now she's got a tiger by the tail.
WIN OR LOSE - JENNIFER JONES HAS BEEN THE BEST THING FOR CANADIAN WOMEN'S CURLING THE LAST 15 YEARS.
Her personality, her players, her interviews, her comebacks, her nail-bitin' wins, some upset losses. She's the best we've ever had - with all due respect to Sandra Schmirler and the gang.
13 Scotties appearances - 6 Gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze. Nobody even close.
Olympic Gold - unbeaten!
2 World Gold + 1 Silver (plus a lonely bronze)
or 1 World Gold + 2 Silver
NO ONE CLOSE
Homan the only current player/team with half a chance!
At 43/44 she's unbeaten going into the gold medal of a worlds.
We're lucky to have her. And super glad she finally settled on Dawn, Jill & Kaitlyn - all super-stars in their own rights!
I'm one of the good guys now!
