World Men's Curling Championship Lethbridge

Seems Team Koe is making an attempt to get some butts i the seats with a 25% discount on tickets, hopefully it'll be a well attended event.

Thanks for this. That’s a cool idea. We’re not too far from Lethbridge and we we’re thinking of going for a few draws.

We’re now having issues with our dog so won’t be traveling.

Go Koe!

Hm. I wonder how low attendance is projected to be if they feel the need to do that.

Price gouging

Could be ticket pricing? On every individual draw ticket there are additional "fees and charges" from 7.50 to 9.00 PER TICKET. Can anyone confirm if you walk up to the ticket window and buy a ticket if they still gouge you, or only online.

That sure is expensive. I'm just gonna watch the games on television. Might even have a hot dog and beer. Zero....

Am planning to attend some of the Players' Championship games in Toronto and noted the following all inclusive ticket prices for various draws:

Draw 1: $9.50

Draws 2-12: $21.25

Draws 13-19: $30.00

Clearly a bargoon compared to Lethbridge.

Booking Fee, Service Charge, Processing Fee...aren't these all essentially the same thing? and 8.50 total for one ticket?! No wonder people opt to stay home and watch. I purchased NFL tickets this year, and had to play a $30 service fee per ticket...PER TICKET. Last time I pay to go to an NFL game.

Lethbridge is a good curling community but only has 1 canadian team, 1 well known international team (Edin).
Fortunately, Kevin Koe the canuck team is Alberta-based and makes a ton of shots.

And the current Olympic Champion team as well.

It's not a lousy field, sorry to dissapoint.

I would imagine that Mouat, De Cruz, and Shuster are "well known international teams" to most knowledgeable curling fans. You should probably Google them. They're pretty good. Most of us here already know about them. And we're not even Legends! Imagine that!

VERY good day for the Canadian boys, just had a 11-3 win over Russia. Speaking of Vic, was it really necessary for them to bring up Kevin's trips to the bathroom?!

In Vic's case he says stupid things every day, to either to try and sound intelligent, or relevant. Almost always NEITHER. Stop. Gear affect? Would you ever? Would you not? What if? Why not?

99.9% of viewers know more about the game that you pretend you don't. Enough with the schtick. Let Russ and Cheryl comment and give opinions on strategy, and you stick to counting them up at the end. We know you can count.

I hope people stuck around to catch the end of the Scotland-Netherlands matchup. High quality last few shots. If you have TSN replay ability then go watch that 10th end.

According to top curlers, winning last rock in the first end increases the chances of winning by 10-20% so how come TSN never shows this important shot?
I realize that TSN hasn't changed so much as a camera angle in 25 years but jeez.
Just like at the end of the championship game, we will get a one question interview with the winning skip, nothing from the other players or losing skip because they have to cut away to a Vic Rauter essay praising the host city and recapping quotes we have already heard during the week.

Time to switch games TSN unless you like watching the Norwegian skip flash his takeouts.

why do all of these guys start kicking rocks out of the house as soon as the last rock of the end stops moving or, in some cases, while that last rock is still moving. Who started that? Why does everybody do it?

If my lack of memory serves, Hebert was one of the first to start this about 10-12 years ago. Nothing would please me more than to have an opposing team call him on it and say, hey, we were going to measure that and you kicked it before it stopped.. As the non offending team making the request, the officials would have no choice but remove the rock, and it would not count. Funny to watch I think. I'd pay to see it. Broom shrapnel and cursing everywhere.

That HAPPENED in the Brier game against Gushue this year but it was not Ben! Koe gave up an early steal of two in end #1 and Koe must have kicked the rocks off with two rocks biting the back 8' (he's the only player not on camera). Gushue took the high ground and gave them the benefit of the doubt (it did look like only 2 but worth a second look and/or measure). Check it out on Youtube at 19:45. Koe won the game 7-6 - I wonder if team Gushue regretted that high ground...

would be nice if TSN would show two draws per day even if they have to show one without Canada. One game a day sucks especially when the feature game isn't close.
