World Mixed Doubles

Peterman and Gallant off to strong start after great performance in Canadians.

My question for all the armchair curling GMs out there: would Jones and Gushue have stronger teams if they swapped seconds and thirds?

Also NO. Nichols is arguably the best or top 3 best thirds in the world. The team would not be better having him at 2nd, especially with Gallant being such a great sweeper.

With Jones team, without Lawes there to contradict all the wrong line calls and sweeping calls for Jones and herself, again the team would not be better.

So, NO.

Peterman and Gallant doing very well at MD worlds so far.

Awesome game today vs Sweden.
4 top curlers, great shotmaking, announcers who don't feel they have to yap full time and game over in 90 minutes..
And when Canada scored a big end I was able to figure it out without someone blabbing one, two, three four!

TC win 4 games against teams that couldn't beat a junior team here in Canada ( I will give you the game against Sweden) and you want to replace one of the top 3 thirds already?

Just where exactly did I say to replace anyone? Just asked the question to spark some debate.
For the record I'd rank Nichols as the best 3rd out there (Swedes might argue). Great shooter, good team guy, class act. Lawes not as dominant but 2 gold medals don't lie.

Oh wait, I did say I wanted Vic replaced.

Any reason behind letting everyone play this year? Made the event longer and watered it down a bit.

Now the real event begins but hope Canada can keep it up they only had one tough game so far which was Sweden and have another today - Japan.

Does anybody know who Canada plays in the first round of the playoffs? Not listed here or on the WCF site yet.

Great to see Canada, Sweden and Japan all get out of the pool of death. All very good teams.

Only one of those 5 made the quarters. Down to Canada, USA, Australia and Sweden. I think Australia is the only surprise here.

Canada beats Sweden, USA gets the bronze.

Congratulations Brett and Joselyn on your Silver medal. I can't believe the skill required to play this type of curling. You've both done us proud. Thanks for the entertainment.

I watched as many games as I could including the great online coverage by WCF. Always blacked out the Canadian games but got to see many different countries play. Thankfully they are changing it to top 20 teams for next year though. I was impressed by Estonia. Really played well. Having said that, Canada wins silver and instead of celebrating what an accomplishment it was......crickets. Great job and well done to Peterman and Gallant. Thank you for doing us proud.
