Those were rumours and that's all. I can assure you Wayne did not want to play.

Well that's a real ****ty deal for you Mark. I'm not quite sure I understand the rationale of David and Matt to move on after winning a purple heart and seemingly being on the rise as a team? I wish you all the best in rebuilding your team for next year.

Let's hope Scott doesn't bail on you too and join daddy for a year before he retires. #strangerthingshavehappened

With Team Ontario getting a bye to the Provincials next year, does this mean that won't happen as you are down to 2 original players Mark?

I am not surprised that Travis got the boot given Epping's failure to make the Brier this year.

We'll see how Camm & Epping get along in the house. Epping is the McEwen of Ontario...does great on the cash circuit but has never made the Brier!

McEwen still the most profound example going. But some of us are old enough to remember the remarkable Merv Mann of Saskatchewan, Garry "McEwen" Ross of Manitoba and of course, Epping now. Both John and Mike still have a few years of trudging to capture an elusive title.

In womens curling I can't think of any really great provincial team that's failed to capture their province. Perhaps only Crystal Webster comes to mind - but I think its been determined Crystal was more a glamour curler than a complete curler - just never had enough arrows in her quiver.

You were the only one who thought Webster was a great curler. She's good, but nowhere near an elite shooter.

I would suggest a similar comparison for womens would be Chelsey Carey until she broke the curse last year

So does Epping get the defending champ spot? If so Keam must love that.

Did anyone else notice this came from Keaners IP address? Makes it very clear which skip has no class.

Looks like Mr. Kean is in shock and feeling very betrayed. We should go easy on him.

So what will the OCA do now with that spot for the Provincial Champion. Perhaps they should just leave it vacant.

Hey - Maybe Glen Howard should pick up Mark & Scott!

Isn't the rule usually the skip and one player or three players ?

I'm not going to have an unregistered tell me I have no class. Sign your post and then we can talk.

Honestly everyone on here has their opinions about players and what they are like. You don't really know a guy from reading a post, it's when you meet them, play against them, and get to know them. So feel free to judge me about a stupid post. I let me frustration get the better of me. I still don't agree with certain aspects of how teams are run, but that's just my opinion.

I've been preaching that I want to put together a team that stays together for the long haul. If you look at McEwen, they've stayed together even when they were struggling in the early days and look where they are now. So to have a team with so much potential, coming off a 5-6 record at their first Brier breakup the way it did is a bit frustrating.

But it is what it is, so I'll take it as a learning experience and move on.

Know there are those on this forum who understand your frustration. Rightly so.

As a fan I wonder about some of the ethics of creating new teams all for the elusive Olympic dream. Curlers are commodities. There has been a lot of change in the past couple of years. Change is good, but some of it has been ugly.

You will find your team. goodness knows there is a lot of talent out there. It takes patience to find the right combo. Ignore the critics. It is so easy to know everything from a keyboard.

Tough times Keaner. This time of the year there are a pile of curve balls thrown and you never know what to expect. Im in the same boat as you. You like to get a team together for a few years in succcession and grow together. Fight through some rough times and enjoy the good times in the end.

Your a solid player and a good guy im sure you wont have any issues rebuilding. Just get er done.

Good luck buddy!

i feel bad for you mark. it sucks that this happened and i hope everything works out for you.

i am a fan of epping but it sucks that he had to pull matt from your team when he had a really good team and a really good third with him already.

maybe you have some ideas about whk to work with, maybe you dont but your a great skip so im sure you wont have any trouble finding new team mates.
