Over the top brush throwing, in your face fist pumps and unnecessary gestures are not 'expressing joy'. It is called insulting, throw it in your face boorish behaviour. Big difference.

Did you see how 21 years old Jordan Spieth handled himself after his victory sunday? No bumping chests ther... Remember, this was The Masters in a sport MUCH bigger than curling.

Is the Jacob's team good. Sure they are! They are REALLY good.

But here is the difference. The GREAT ones win respecting their opponents and the fans.

you notice how whenever something like this happens you never really hear the players say something bad. like when virtue got ejected from the provincial final and there were actually players defending him?

the players themselves dont care if other guys show emotion

as long as players shake hands its fine and the jacobs team does that. as others have said you also have to think about the fact that they got very lucky to even make the final .they probably shouldnt have even won that game so just combine that relief plus the desire to finally win a slam.

people just some to love to hate these guys. i didnt see anyone get on ulsrud after he made that shot in the page playoff in the 7th end when he yelled, raised his broom in triumph and then turned to the audience and raised his broom again

look at me..i am not even a fan and im feircely defending them here

Not condoning Middaugh's actions but if he did try to give them a bit of a message, I am not surprised.

I am sure if the other players do not respect Jacobs' team that will become obvious to them. I am sure they will tone things down as they get older.

Respect and good sportsmanship should never go out of style. If I was a coach, I would promote acting like you have been there before and avoid what could be taken as unsportsmanlike behaviour. All that does is put a target on your back and get teams more focused on beating you. Nothing's more effective than somebody who coolly goes about their business.
