Just wow. Epping really just...there are no words to describe how bad that loss to de Cruz is. None. Open hit to win but rolls out then a total mess of an extra end

What kind of dilemma did Jen face with her final stone?
Even though Valerie curled a perfect game - Jones had ample opportunity to put the Albertans away - BUT FAILED!
Anyways that can describe or show a video of Jones failed last rocks would be appreciated!
I always set the PVR up to tape the next program after the curling, then you will always see the end of the curling game.

The BIG 3 - all have their amazing strengths but some telling weaknesses.
JONES - after an amazing run-thru a hole with millimeters to spare for a 3-ender vs. Sweeting - Jones just couldn't hang on as Val pressed her with a shot assault rarely seen on the ice lanes. Jones, now 42 has become increasingly indecisive with certain shot selections and today was a perfect example.
HOMAN - superior technical skills and moderate advantage in front-end brush-power; Emma and Rachel are the best technical deliverers of rocks in the womens game. Disadvantage is when ice conditions don't permit their big and heavy shot-pelting they have problems adjusting to a more nuanced pitty-patty game.
SWEETING - seeing the most confident Valerie I've seen since she emerged on the scene as a nervous, nail-biting post-junior skip. Loaded with confidence, a great team behind her she presents a massive problem to whoever she takes on. Staying with Jones until she eventually broke her in the extra - putting an exclamation point on how she busted up Jones fairly badly in the round-robin last weekend.
Val & Rachel take the least amount of chances in their games - Jones the most. Really interested to see how easily Homan advances to the championship game this weekend - and whether her opponent will be Sweeting or a surprise!

"THERE IS NO ONE I'D TRUST MORE TO COMPLETE AN OPEN HIT OR A DRAW TO THE FOUR FOOT THAN JJ." M.L. NOV.,2016.
And she didn't just miss the 4 foot - she missed the entire house!

jacobs open hit to win was a gutterball too....
hopefully someone will retire and write a book. - must be serious consequences for criticizing anything , swearing, and broom throwing ...
for players and announcers. Maybe we could allow body checking and fighting - last memrable event was Gushue hitting the deck .... i think theres a new rule that you cant play after a fall now ... good rule - Brad still isnt 100% a year later..

Jacobs knew he missed it right out of his hand. That's not the ice.

Obviously there are those, but there are also a lot of missed shots followed by very puzzled looks.

Wow, tough way to lose for McEwen. But I'm happy for Epping. After two really tough losses in a row that's an important rebound mentally for epping

Mike has 2 seconds after rushing last shot ... should have cut short timeout and given himself 30 secs in hack - hindsite , but probably true
John has easy hit to tie but jams the winner which rolls for 3 by an inch - an eyelash on front shot and its extra end ....
Mike is cursed like a few others ...

Methinx this is Magic Mike's last kick at the cat in Manitoba in current squad. Lots of diminished returns last couple years - no longer the Monsters of Manitoba - Reidzilla is!
Just a pretty boring bunch running rocks up 'n down the ice. If they meek out to Reid at the Manitoba championships - they'll call it a day! If they manage to sneak by Reid but get whipped 'n bombed at Brier '17 that's it!
Nothing short of a Brier win (possibly runner-up) keeps them in the thing. Of course, Trial points is another way to look at it! If they disperse they lose a ton of Trial points - if they trudge on - they probably qualify for 1 of the back end spots!

6 Womens Teams Qualified
4 teams playing off for remaining 2 berths.
One all-euro affair - veteran Binia Feltscher vs. Anna Hasselborg of Sweden...... another cautious slobbernokker!
Jones vs. her perennial nemesis Chelsea Carey - who managed to batter Ali Flaxey into submission tonite. This one should be amazing to watch. Two wild-eyed combatants, both with lots of team under the hood. Susan O'Connor seems to have fit in seamlessly over Amy Nixon while Jones, trials spot in tow won't hesitate to foist any number of crazy risks on the ice. JJ is tougher than shoe leather - and despite throwing away her earlier match vs. Val Sweeting she still loves to qualify and draw as much camera time as is humanly possible!
Quick note: None of the tie-break teams will be around for the Boost National Final. Binia is still finding her path, Hasselborg doesn't have a vicious killer instinct, Carey is a statistical yo-yo and Jones is Jones - you never know what you're gonna get when she's your box of chocolates.
If I had to pick one - and only one team to make their way to the semi-finals before meeting their maker in either Homan or Sweeting - I'll go Hasselborg.

I do hate to quote ML however I can't disagree with some of the comments. With his broom toss the length of the sheet and then the lonely walk across 5 sheets, Mike seems disillusioned with recent results. Don't be surprised with a shake up.

doubt any team will change before the roar .. next year
it just takes one week hot spell ... no pics, no wiffs, 90% x 4 players , no paper falling off the ceiling - there are probably ten teams that can run the table - koe, jacobs , gushue, carruthers , mcewan, howard, epping, laycock, botcher, cotter, thomas and of course Dark Horse.... all of had the streak to do it ..
but after that 31 players will "take some time off !" and the 9 will form 3 teams to try for a brier and a worlds

Womens tie-breaks
As predicted Feltscher vs. Hasselborg developing into a grid-locked slobbernokker.
Meanwhile, Jones has bolted to a 7-5 lead on nemesis Carey. Grave doubts though about whether she can hang on against a late inning Carey flurry. Kaitlyn Lawes having an awful game according to stats reports!
