Brier in Brandon - 2019?

I didn't think I would see the day the brier might be back in Brandon. Westman Plae (Keystone Centre only holds 5000.

Hard to believe its over 35 yrs since last Brandon Brier. Still have fond memories of doing play by play for radio (there were no TSN daily draws back then) and getting into a feud with the late Winnipeg Tribune sports writer Jackson Matheson. I was even part of the Brier 82 committee - still have my jacket with crest from the event. Very special. Will try to get out once again - either a day trip or a 2 day deal.

Would love to see the Brandon Brier committee bring in as many folks from the 63 and 82 Briers. Hackner won't be too tough to track down, nor the Manitoba rep - Mel Logan, who put up a heckuva fight battling pneumonia and made playoffs before succumbing.
'63 reps will be harder to find - Ernie Richardson (event winner) is still alive but he'd be around 89 when the event convenes. Ron Northcott, playing in his first brier (I do believe) is still alive but I wonder if his '63 skip is too, Jim Shields. Glenn Harper was the BC rep - don't know his status. Hersh Lerner is probably the sole surviving member of the Manitoba team - Cole Staniloff passed away nearly 25 years ago - Bob Lemecha & Mr. Dudar may still be alive.
Would also love to see homage paid to Matt Baldwin - but Matt would be around 94 or 95 when the event goes!

Reporters

I recall poor Mrs. Logan was in the news more than Mr. Logan and I was only like 19 years old!

I sure hope that is the announcement, would be interesting to know who the chairperson will be.

Soon as that volunteer call comes out - I am on it!

As far as chair-person for the event? How 'bout The First Family of Brandon Curling - The Fowlers? Brian, Rob & Mama
