I don't have a pair but my wife does. She seems to really like them. The new slider pods are definitely lighter and thinner than having a piece of 1/4" teflon on your foot. And she claims they are faster, too. She said that while watching the slam up in Selkirk there were sure a lot of teams in Goldline gear including these new shoes. That can't exactly be bad buzz...

You must be thinking it's time to upgrade from your Podium shoes, Dave? I'd say go for it!

FYI, the pods keep breaking as they get cold and the plastic breaks...

There is a guy who has a mobile pro shop that comes to our club. His trailer was littered with broken disks from those shoes.

If anyone has any issues with the gripper discs, I recommend you contact Goldline and they will send you some new discs. The grippers have gone through a bit of an evolution.

There were some bugs with the grippers over the first few months of release, but the problem is now fixed. They will replace the previous discs should you have any issues with them.

Hi - moved from Podium Silvers to Quantum Z this year. Well, in between I had the Quantum X, but the seams came apart on one shoe, so I paid a bit extra on exchange to get the Z's. Much improved - they feel more durable, and fit well for somebody with a wide foot (my running shoes are 10 4E).

If you are still shopping, try to get the gripper disks with the white plastic snaps (as opposed to the blue plastic). I've gone through a bunch of the blue plastic ones - but my buddy got some white plastic gripper disks and hasn't had any problems.

I've put 60 games on mine so far, and no complaints. Holding up well.

If anyone has any issues with the gripper pods, they're advised to exchange them for the newest version (with the white teeth). There's no cost to exchange them as there were some issues with the blue ones.

I just picked up a set of their new stainless steel slider disks at the Players - highly recommended!

I had a pair of the previous podiums last fall and I sold them after 4 games because I found the 1/4 slider slow compared to the balance plus.

I really like the balance plus 500's but I am a toe slider and I have split the sole on the last three pairs I had, one pair a year. I curl an average of 4 or 5 games a week.

I now have a pair of Asham disks. Now I modified a balance plus disk to fit the front pad and I really like the feel but as to life of the shoe, I guess you will have to ask me next year!

Sorry but that Goldline shoe looks gimmicky. I suspect Goldline hands this stuff out to the pro's for advertisement so it maybe a while before we know how reliable they are.

Personally I think Balance Plus makes the best slider, and if you can use their top of the line shoe it would probably work. I have a large foot and have fit problems with many makes.

Balance Plus top of the line or Asham are my preference. Hard to beat the BP slider.

Does anyone know....

If I was ordering online are the "speed 10" slider pods the stainless steel ones, or do I have to call and special order those?

I'm pretty sure my wife got the "speed 9" but not 100% sure. I just know the ones she got are the black plastic ones they told her were equivalent to 1/4" teflon.

I got a pair of these shoes toward the end of the season on sale, and I got the speed 10 sliders. They were the black plastic looking ones.

They took a little time to break in and they were a little slower at first, but the speed is good and I find the shoes comfortable.

I have never tried the a stainless slider, and I don't know where to get them for the Quantums. The guy I got my shoes from didn't have them, but I haven't tried calling Goldline directly. I think if you order speed 10, they are the plastic ones.
